Rail Depot Manager Dublin and Co.Louth
Are you an experienced Rail professional looking for a new challenge? Would you consider relocating to Ireland? We have exciting opportunities for Rail Depot Managers to be based out of Dublin or Drogheda on the East coast of Ireland.
Our client is going through a major investment and growth period and have new opportunities for Rail Depot Managers to manage the maintenance depot and fleet of trains. You will be required to manage the rolling stock in the most efficient and cost effective way whilst manging the relevant teams.
What you will be doing;
- You will strategically plan the ongoing maintenance of the fleet in line with company requirements.
- Leading and directing depot staff whilst developing their potential and ensuring effective communication and development opportunities
- Providing advice where appropriate for trade union/staff negotiations, issues in line with company policies
- Prepare and meet annual and long term plans and budgets for the areas of responsibility within the framework set whilst ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
- You’ll ensure the fleet and its ancillary plant and equipment is maintained to the technical specifications and develop maintenance overhaul programmes in line with manufacturers recommendations.
- Implementing a Continuous improvement policy in line with best practice in the industry.
What they are looking for;
- Previous experience working as a Depot manager responsible for maintenance depots and workshops
- Traction and Rolling Stock maintenance and overhaul experience
- You will have strong leadership skills and able to lead and motivate staff
- Strong organisational skills focussed on the needs of transportation sectors of the business and external customer requirements
- You’ll be safety conscious and have a good technical background.
This is a days based role working Monday to Friday.

The role is offered on an initial 12 month fixed term contract basis with a view to being made permanent after this period.
